Evaluation Of Pre-Production Documents

Why is it important to evaluate pre-production documents?
By evaluating the effectiveness of a pre-production document it can ensure that the final version is up to the production teams standards.
If the documents don't get checked then major planning issues may arise.

How to evaluate?
Things that must be considered:

  • Suitability of the content -> Must meet the brief and must be useful in aiding the production team when producing the product
  • Suitability of content for the target audience

What should be used:
  • Positive language
  • Consideration for the original designer & creator
  • Specific feedback on any suggested improvement - justifying why it would make the document better

Evaluating Documents:

This sketch has a clear and easy to understand design. It is also to-scale and includes drawings of people enabling the viewer to see the size comparison of the set.

This schedule has minor spelling mistakes, doesn't include dates and public holidays are not included. This makes it inaccurate and not particularly useful. The colours used to code the various 'to do' list activities are also repeated which may cause confusion for the viewer.
