Concept art, Visualisation Diagrams, Flash Plans, Prototypes & Mock Ups

Concept Art
It is form of visualisation that does not have a storyline, however, portrays a message.
It's important because it helps the viewer feel emotions and understand concepts through the form of art that may be ambiguous and open to interpretation.

Visualisation Diagrams
It is a detailed drawing of something that is going to be potentially used in a project. The quality of the drawing is not important as it goes through multiple variations and developments before it becomes a final product/project.
It is important as it informs the viewer what the potential 'thing' can do/ will look like. It is useful for companies to work on an idea together and gives a starting point for a project/product.

Flat Plans
A plan of the content for print media, such as newspapers & magazines. It runs as a basic template that then gets changed each week or so.
It is important as it enables the editor to see what is going into the print media & where its going in - Helps organise the magazine before its created and published.

Prototypes
A 'mock' product to see if the real thing will work.
This is important as it enables the company creating the product to see what works/what doesn't and whether or not the product will be aesthetically pleasing. These prototypes also get tested to see if they are comfortable/efficient.

Mock Ups
Testing a potential design that will go onto products. For example, a billboard poster, a logo on a range of products, etc.
Important as it enables the company to see if they like the placement or appearance of the design.
