Easy ways to get advertisers on your website
Promote an affiliate product on your site:
  • Joining another company’s affiliate program. —> simplest way so start internet advertising. —> allow you to make money by promoting another company’s product.
  • As an affiliate, you earn commission for each person you referred buys the product.
  • Sales can be encouraged by posting a banner on your site that relates to the affiliate site or publish a newsletter article about their product.
  • Payout options vary depending on the affiliate programme. i.e. some may offer 10% commission per sale, while others may offer 50%.
  • To find a good affiliate program, these directories should be checked: Associate Programmes, Affiliates Directory & Refer-It.
Use targeted advertising with Google AdSense:
  • Make money by placing targeted text ads generated by google on your site.
  • The ads appear in rectangular boxes down the side or across the bottom of the web page. The words “Ads by Google” are written over the top.
  • The ads are paid for by businesses that use Googles pay-per-click programme, AdWords.
  • The ads are in relation to the purpose of the website. i.e. if the website sells clothing then the ads may be for similar shops.
  • Google AdSense publishers earn money every time a visitor to their site clicks one of the AdWords ads.
  • Google ads do not work on all websites, meaning they should be tested before being added.

Approach companies directly to ask if you can advertise for them:
  • You can ask other shops to advertise your business, for example, a bridal shop may ask a florist to advertise their shop.
  • The more successful the ads are, the more you can charge for them.
  • Contact with potential advertising partners should be done a formal and professional manner.
  • The more information given to a potential advertising partner, the higher the chance of them considering your offer. Information includes how much traffic your site receives.

Sign up for a blog-specific ad program:

  • Adsense by Google and Crisp Ads both offer a similar program. —> they automatically generate ads for your site (Crisp Ads is only for blogs).
  • By placing Amazon Associates ads on your site and feature ads for products that you use / happy to endorse, customers can respond to your own recommendations.
  • By placing links saying something like “click here to find out how you can advertise on this blog”  anyone visiting the site can instantly ask to advertise and discuss opportunities with you.

  • By signing up with an advertiser-publisher connection program(such as BlogAds or AdBrite) You can get listed in their publishers’ directory.  —> with these ads, the publishers will look through the listings of thousands of blogs so they can choose the correct people to promote their product.
